Both of them is good at speed for media storage. Video and others are okay to proceed. But Western have faster respond and work nicely for small files. Then, for the sustained transfer rate, Samsung had better than Western Digital. Also the platters that Samsung used was 3 compare to Western that use 4 platters. These green series also lesser noise, even some people said it was quite enough. Consuming lesser watt on hard-drive maybe seem go for nothing. But underline that the factory must be released a hundred million of unit over the world. By that fact, its hope to reduce electrical consume significantly.

There are others kind of 1,5 Tb internal hard drive. Such Seagate LP or Seagate 7200.11, but unfortunately the 1,5 Tb drive they made not too good as for media storage compare to Western Digital and Samsung. As for Seagate LP, the drive is hotter while run, consume more power, and using 4 platters. Actually they can made it to three but somehow they don't. The second are Seagate 7200.11 that have a lot bad feedback by people who use it. So just pass this type. From just byte to kilo byte, evolving to gigabyte then now terabyte. Starting by lesser electrical consume hard-drive, maybe someday there would be non-electrical use monitor. It good that industry try to save the earth by simple ways such electrical consume.
